A career that spans almost 30 years; starting at Walker Group/CNI 83-86, Freelancing with Patrick McQuilkin 86, Fitzpatrick Design group 87-98, and Gensler 98-01. In 2001 Andrew came to Cincinnati from New York to take a lead creative position at FRCH in the Department Store/Large Format studio planning and design teams. He is now the Retail market Leader for BHDP Architecture, providing an international perspective, vision, and a hands-on capability. Using his experience and knowledge, Andrew incorporates a thorough understanding of strategic concepting, planning, merchandising, design, Client management, project management and construction documentation. As the current International President and together with the International Board, they have successfully engaged a focused effort on the three key areas : bring value to our membership, being the industry authority, and providing professional development. The foundation they have re-established is strong and will become the springboard for moving the Institute forward. Andrew believes that everyone who is elected has the responsibility to advance the mission of the Retail Design Institute and its members. The International Board, including the Chapter Directors, needs to continue to grow and foster a spirit of collaboration, dedication, and accountability.
Paul J. Biondolillo,RDIInternational Vice President
To Paul, every project has a personality, and it’s his job to bring that personality to life. It’s important to Paul to connect the different elements of a project into an environment that tells a single, coherent story. More than places to shop, these are places to be. And while some call them branded retail experiences, he likes to think of them as relevant retail experiences.
Paul is highly skilled at the development of strategic design concepts, brand creation, and creative solutions of retail environments, furnishings and fixtures. He offers an innovative vision of how to give retail brands a voice, and a signature creativity in developing point-of-purchase systems, shop-within-shop concepts, merchandise and adjacency planning, operational layouts, lighting plans, and design development drawings. Not only does Paul bring a creative edge but also extensive knowledge in construction techniques and materials and the fabrication process that go into designing environments and fixtures for prototype and national rollout programs.
