Service Design Facilitating Retail Design
In this presentation, Alex Ritchie explained how the best international design agencies utilise a service-led approach to retail design. This approach allows a retailer to connect to their customer on an emotional level, which converts buyers into brand advocates.

Alex is a respected brand designer who has worked across Europe, America and Australia for over 23 years.

Recent projects include a 4,500sqm experiential brand experience centre for Qantas, the flagship retail environment for Sony, Kodak’s future store in store retail environments, Singleton Ogilvy Mather’s new workplace environment and China Telecoms Pavilion at the 2010 World EXPO in Shanghai.

Living Edge showcased excellence in furniture design combining a mix of proven classics and future icons for the home and office. Each piece in the Living Edge range is carefully chosen for its style, function and history. The work of Charles and Ray Eames and George Nelson sit alongside contemporary designs from Australians Norman and Quaine, Charles Wilson, Matt Sheargold, Jon Goulder and bernabeifreeman

Retail Design Awards 2010

The Retail Design Institute recently held their inaugural Design awards evening at Circa at the Prince Hotel in St Kilda.



The event was a sold out success, it was a great evening for the celebration of innovative design and designers in this country.




Our guest speaker Amanda Henderson gave a informative passionate and entertaining talk on design and her collaboration in the newly refurbed Circa at the Prince.

The Retail Design Institute would like to congratulate the winners.

Of course a big thank you to our sponsors ASOFIA and Indesign. Gerard Ryan, CEO, ASOFIA, presented the awards to our 2nd place winners and Indesign's Richard Burne presented our 3rd place winners.

The evening was a spectacular success the venue the food the wine the hard crafted glass awards designed by local glass artist Mark Douglass all created a perfect platform for a memorable and enjoyable evening.

We look forward to seeing the talent and creative design for the 2010 – 2011 Retail Design Awards.
