2015 International Store Design Competition

Call for Entries

Design firms and in-house retail design teams from around the globe are invited to submit projects for the Institute’s 45th Annual International Store Design Competition. The competition celebrates exceptional retail experiences across more than 20 categories from full-line departments stores to restaurants and pop-up shops.

Eligible projects are those completed between Nov. 1, 2014 and Dec. 31, 2015.

Industry’s only peer-reviewed competition The judging panel will be comprised of Professional Retail Design Institute members and other top industry professionals. The Institute's New York Chapter is serving as judging host for 2015.


Multiple Opportunities To Have Your Project(s) Recognized. A first place winner and up to two "award of merit" may be awarded in each category at the discretion of the judging committee. In addition, a single "Store of the Year" will be chosen from amongst all the first place category winners. The Institute’s prestigious "Innovation Awards" will also recognize exceptional concepts for their Store Planning, Lighting, Visual Merchandising, Shopfitting & Fixtures, Sustainability, Finishes & Materials, Graphic Design and Digital/Technology integration.

Awards Ceremony

An awards ceremony honoring the winners will take place in Dallas, Saturday, March 12, at Lowe’s Anatole Hotel (SPECS Show 2016). An after party and networking opportunity will follow, including event photos. Marketing Impact: Your Winning Entry Will Be Showcased in the April/May issue of CSA with bonus distribution at SPECS 2016 (March 13-15, Dallas) and RECon (May 22-25, 2016, Las Vegas). CSA magazine is the authority on global retailing from design and construction to customer-facing technology. Thanks to the Institute’s global chapter network, a recap of the 2015 winners on a roadshow that will include such prestigious stops at ICSC, Institute Global Chapters and events on five continents. No other retail design award program can match this reach and ongoing exposure.
