Dalyah diamond jewelry store opens on Madison Avenue, NYC

For her flagship namesake store on New York's famed Madison Avenue, Dalyah Duek-Flaks, the hottest jewelry designer in South Africa, retained TPG Architecture for full design concept and architectural services, according to TPG Managing Directors Alec Zaballero and Diana Revkin. The store, which is the first for the recently relocated Flaks, showcases luxury custom designed diamond and gemstone pieces from the source that range in price from $2,000 to $100,000.

TPG Design Director David Palachek, who was responsible for the store's design, describes it as "an important opportunity to showcase Dalyah's world-class jewelry designs at shopping's premier address. It was critical to create an elegant and luxurious environment that at the same time would make luxury accessible to all customers."

To do this, TPG relied on an understated palette of neutral materials to provide an air of elegance while showcasing the product in its best light. These materials include a black granite floor, grey sueded walls, a dry-stacked linea marble feature wall, and a custom-designed rug which carries the brand's signature "D" logo. Custom lacquer and chrome showcases lend a modern sparkle to the space, while a grouping of upholstered seating allows the sales staff to thoroughly educate the customer about their purchase.

Says Palachek, "Dalyah's business is about creating relationships with her customer, and communicating the source and quality of each stone. She had to have an environment that was conducive to those types of in depth conversations."

Dalyah is located at 625 Madison Avenue at 58th Street.
