Call for Nominations
September 17, 2009


Dear Fellow Professional:

As International Chairman, I have responsibility for all Retail Design Institute Awards Programs. The here-to-fore "invisible" Committee is made up of selected Fellows of the Institute who vet and review all nominations and candidates for Retail Design Institute Awards, passing approved candidates and committee recommendations to the Board of Directors for final approval

As with all Retail Design Institute awards, the by-laws specifically prohibit soliciting for an Award or reciprocity, and any evidence of such will automatically disqualify the nominee.

While Retail Design Institute realizes that in some cases the person nominating must communicate with the potential candidate no promises are to be made, and all communication is confidential.

Forms and explanations are included for submitting nominations for each of these awards. Your nomination must be sent to the Retail Design Institute's International Office no later than October 1, 2009.

Retail Design Institute Awards include:
"2009 Member of the Year" Awarded to a Fellow, Professional, Associate or Allied Member who has contributed most significantly to furthering the missions of Retail Design Institute during a calendar year. This award is given only on an as-merited basis. Nominations are accepted from all Professionals and Fellows.

"2009 Trade Member of the Year" Awarded to a Trade Member who has supported and contributed greatly to the activities of Retail Design Institute .This award is given only on an as-merited basis. Nominations are accepted from all Professionals and Fellows.

"Honorary Member" Awarded to any individual, not otherwise eligible for membership, who has supported Retail Design Institute and Retail Design or whose membership would be an asset to the Institute. i.e.: a line Retail Executive, Trade Association Executive or other luminary. Nominations accepted from Retail Design Officers and Board Members - contact your Chapter President with your recommendation, or call an International Officer.

"Fellow" Retail Design Institute's highest honor. Criteria & procedures adopted in 1994, revised in 1997 and updated in 2004 are in effect. The title of Fellow is only granted to an active Professional Member who has achieved the highest degree of professionalism and performed outstanding service to and on behalf of the Retail Design Institute over a period of time.

All nominations must include:
- Nominee must be nominated by two (2) or more Professionals or Fellows to qualify for consideration. Nominations to be sent in separately.
