For the past several years, we have all witnessed how technology and consumers' shopping styles have changed the way we interact with brands. We have seen retail's need to transform from a transactional space to an experiential place. This past week, Pacific Northwest Chapter members and special guests were treated to an inspiring and eye-opening presentation by Jared Pearce, REI's Senior Project Manager, and Alex Shapleigh, CallisonRTKL's Senior Vice President, as they presented their multi-year journey to redefine the flagship retail experience.
Jared and Alex did a masterful job of building the anticipation as they shared the process of transforming the raw shell of a historic building in downtown Washington DC into the new, organic, exciting approach to flagship store design with a strong tie to the local community; creating something more then just a place to shop - but a launch pad for outdoor activity. More than 30 attendees enjoyed food and drink - and the opportunity to network and meet new retail design friends.
THANK YOU to our event sponsors, hosts and presenters: REI, CallisonRTKL and Terramai.
