Brick-and-Mortar is here to stay! This was prevalent in Carly’s enlightening presentation and attendance.
Carly Hagedon, VMSD magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, joined us at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) as she examined trends occurring in retail across North America and abroad, showcasing why physical retail and visual merchandising still matters to consumers, even in the digital era. It was wonderful seeing all our industry colleagues and meeting new ones.
We are proud to have partnered with Shop! and VMSD on this event and thank our generous event sponsor Visual Creations / Rose Displays for their support of this exciting program.

Carly’s point about brick-and-mortar enduring despite digital trends really resonates—physical spaces still create the kind of memorable, sensory experiences that keep customers coming back. It made me think about how even small, tactile details, like a unique 3d-figurine or custom display piece, can turn a routine shopping trip into something worth talking about.
Seeing Carly Hagedon's presentation at RISD really got me thinking, her insights on visual merchandising's importance in the digital age were fascinating! Banana AI
