The PNW Retail Design Institute was excited to launch its first Student Design Charrette, bringing together students and industry professionals for a multi-day experience centered on creativity, collaboration, and real-world design impact.
The series kicked off on March 26 at The Shop by Porter, where attendees were introduced to ARCADE, a nonprofit journal dedicated to architecture, design, and the built environment, and learned about the vision behind the challenge. Students were invited to design a distribution display fixture that stores and showcases ARCADE journals in public-facing spaces, expanding access to design ideas through thoughtful, physical experiences.
The energy carried through two hands-on charrette sessions, where participants explored concepts, developed ideas, and received feedback in a fast-paced and supportive environment. The sessions encouraged experimentation, fresh thinking, and meaningful connections across our design community.
A special thank you to our sponsors, Porter, Arcadis, and Momentum, for making this initiative possible.
We look forward to announcing the winning design at our upcoming Student Mentoring Event.
