PNW Event Recap: Design Refracted

Updated: 3 days ago

Last week we came together at Wunderground Coffee for an evening in celebration of Pride Month, creating space to explore how queer identity can shape more inclusive retail experiences and the spaces we design. Set in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Wunderground, the event invited our community to connect, reflect, and engage in conversations that continue to move our industry forward.

Our panelists, Jody Hall, K Kaczmarek, and Nomi Cooper, shared their perspectives on how design can challenge traditional thinking, celebrate authenticity, and foster a greater sense of belonging. We explored the impact of designing through a more inclusive lens and the role our industry plays in creating environments where everyone feels seen and welcome.

A heartfelt thank you to our host, Wunderground Coffee, and to our sponsors Arcadis and Momentum Textiles & Wallcovering for making this event possible.
