What a great evening it was for our recent SOLD OUT event on May 18, 2017 - Nordstrom Seattle Downtown Flagship store design tour.
Special thanks to Tom Ackerman, Dawn Clark and the Nordstrom store design team on graciously hosting the evening event and tour. And a extra big thank you to Cindi Kato and the CallisonRTKL Seattle office for their generous sponsorship of this event.
RDI members and special guests were treated to drinks and appetizers in the Nordstrom design offices, where we were introduced to the project. This was followed by a store tour, during which further design details and project challenges were shared with the group. The renovation of the Nordstrom Downtown Seattle store was completed in Spring 2016 with the goal of evolving the store environment to remain modern and relevant with customers. The hope was to create a sense of discovery, allowing customers to navigate easily and find new brands they may not have experienced before. Attending guests visiting the 383,000 sq. ft., five-level flagship store appreciated the clean, single-surface floor plans that give flexibility to adjust and evolve departments over time depending on what customers want, as well as the natural light from newly exposed windows to connect the shopping experience to the outside world, thereby improving the overall customer experience.
Thanks again to Nordstrom and Callinson/RTKL for their support of the Retail Design Institute, Pacific Northwest Chapter.
See you at the next event!
