CDF Macau, Cotai NELSON Worldwide and China Duty-Free Group
Photography: Otto Lou, China Duty Free Macau Limited; Macau
China Duty Free Group is the country’s leading duty-free retailer with more than 200 shops across China. Its new store occupies more than 80,000 sq. ft. and its surrealist design echoes the Grand Lisboa Palace’s ‘Fantasy Garden’ theme.
Designed to invoke splendor and luxury, the NELSON Worldwide team’s dreamy, modern space delivers an ultra-contemporary shopping experience for post-pandemic mainland tourists. The shop offers a 2400-sq-ft. VIP area — its first member lounge in Hong Kong and Macau — providing personalized shopping.
Judges found the space elegant and open – with plenty of visual interest including materials and finishes that set each space apart.
