Event Recap: Designing the Dispensary - A Night at Gotham

Hosted by the Retail Design Institute – New York Chapter

April 23rd, 2026

Designing the Dispensary: A Night at Gotham brought together members of the Retail Design Institute for an immersive evening exploring the future of elevated cannabis retail. Hosted at Gotham’s Chelsea location, attendees experienced firsthand how the female-founded brand is redefining the dispensary model through thoughtful design, art, fashion, and community-driven storytelling.

The evening began with a guided tour of the beautifully curated space, offering insight into Gotham’s retail philosophy and how intentional design can shape customer perception and experience within the evolving cannabis industry. Guests then gathered in Gotham’s gallery space for cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and networking with fellow professionals across retail, experiential, and design disciplines.

The event sparked meaningful conversations around the intersection of culture, wellness, hospitality, and retail design, while highlighting how brands like Gotham are creating spaces that feel less transactional and more experiential. Thank you to everyone who joined us for an inspiring evening of conversation, connection, and discovery.
