Todd Snyder, New York City Design: AEO, Pittsburgh Photography: Phillip Gutman, New York City
For this 1600-sq-ft Todd Snyder holiday pop-up at Rockefeller Center, the in-house team’s goal was to design a freestanding modular fixturing structure that could be installed quickly within a multi-level space. They wanted the temporary space and serve as a fully functioning store before completing a permanent Todd Snyder store in New York City in the same space.
Conceived as a “ship in a bottle,” the three-dimensional structure incorporated branding and custom visual merchandising elements that took inspiration from the colors and patterns of the latest Todd Snyder menswear collections. The design used a minimum number of parts to keep the structure open and flexible. Large environmental graphics installed in unconventional and playful ways completed the design.
The judges appreciated both the fixture system’s simplicity and that it was designed to be reused. This project received an Innovation Award for Fixturing.
