FIKA Herbal Goods, Toronto | 51st International Design Competition Winner

FIKA Herbal Goods, Toronto Design: GH&A Design Studio, Montréal Photography: Brennan Suche, Toronto

FIKA Herbal Goods is a 1678-sq.-ft. cannabis store in Toronto’s historic Distillery District. The GH&A Design Studio team retained the original concrete columns, floor, and brick walls to create an interior that pulls patrons in. Craftsmanship took inspiration from deep woods and earthy tones to create a feeling of comfort and familiarity.

Three centrally located Flower Bars made of walnut with stone countertops are the heartbeat of the space and allow for personalized service. Cascading magnifying domes display cannabis flower by strain and strength, making it easy to navigate.

The judges deemed this a ‘beautiful store.” Adding, “It’s a great new take on a dispensary. There are interesting details in every corner.”

Innovation Award for Visual Merchandising.

Architect: Greystone Design Group, Toronto

General Contractor: Petretta Construction, Oldcastle, Ont. Suppliers: Peregrine Retail Design Manufacturing, Burnaby, BC (fixturing); Homier Luminaires, Montréal (lighting)
