In Memoriam: Anthony M. (Tony) Camilletti Jr. 1956 - 2022


A memorial visitation is planned for Tony Camilletti on Sunday, Nov. 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tony was a longtime Institute member of the Chicago | Great Lakes Chapter, and a leading industry professional, who passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 14 at his home in Washington, Mich. At the time of his passing, Tony was a national account executive at Federal Heath. His career spanned five decades in the retail design industry. Two of his longest stints were at JGA Inc., where he was vice president of design/architecture, before departing for d | fab, where he was executive vice president.


Tony was a longtime supporter of VMSD magazine and the International Retail Design Conference, which he often attended. He was also a recurring speaker and long-time advocate of Chain Store Age magazine's SPECS events.


Tony had a passion and talent for music, singing at various jazz clubs around greater Detroit. Known for jazz covers by jazz greats such as Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra, Tony often performed the works of Tony Bennett in his homage titled 'Tony by Tony."


Visitation will be followed by a memorial service at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons in Shelby, Mich. Tony is survived by his wife Jean (nee McKown) and daughter Jenna as well as his sister Michelle. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony Sr. and Rose, and his brother Ronald. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
