Retail Design Institute Carolinas Chapter Announces Election of New Chapter Officers for 2025–2027 Term

The Retail Design Institute’s Carolinas Chapter is pleased to announce the election of its new Chapter Officers, who will lead the Chapter beginning November 1, 2025, through October 31, 2027.

This newly elected leadership team brings diverse experience and a shared passion for fostering connections between designers, retailers, and vendors throughout the region. Together, they will continue to grow the Carolinas Chapter through innovative programming, educational opportunities, and community engagement.

President: Haley Ventura, RDI, Associate, Little

A Professional Member of the Institute since 2018, Haley continues in her role as Chapter President.

“As a highly motivated retail designer with 14 years of experience, I am passionate about creating connections between the design community, local retailers, and vendors in the Charlotte region. As President, I plan to build on the solid foundation that has been established through enriching educational opportunities and effective networking events. With my growing involvement in RDI over the past seven years, I am committed to giving back to the retail design community and using my expertise to positively impact our local Chapter,” said Ventura.

Vice President: Douglas Williamson, RDI, Planning & Development / Design & Display, Boy Scouts of America, National Supply Group

A Professional Member since 2021, Douglas steps into the role of Vice President after previously serving as Secretary.

“I have enjoyed an association with ISP/RDI throughout my almost 40-year career in Store Planning & Design. Currently, I am the Planning & Design Specialist for Scouting America with 120+ stores across the U.S. territories. The Charlotte area group has always been my membership affiliation. We are currently focused on our efforts to restore the Carolinas Chapter to a thriving RDI Chapter. There are plentiful retailers, design groups, and vendors within the metro Charlotte area and also within our membership region. These groups will be our focus to connect with during the next officer term,” said Williamson.

Secretary: Darby Klemz, Associate RDI, Assistant Planner, Belk

A new addition to the Carolinas Chapter leadership team, Darby has been a Member of the Institute since 2025.

“Darby Klemz is an Assistant Planner at Belk. She is passionate about the customer journey and creating an elevated, memorable in-store experience to drive sales, enhance flow, and foster a strong brand identity. While serving, she looks forward to engaging with college students and recent post-grad professionals to educate them about the benefits of RDI and driving RDI membership,” said Klemz.

Treasurer: Kiffin Lashua, RDI, Project Manager, JLL

A Professional Member since 2021, Kiffin has been involved with the Carolinas Chapter since its inception and most recently served as Vice President.

“I have been involved with the Carolinas RDI Chapter since its inception and have most recently served as VP. I appreciate the nomination and gladly accept,” said Lashua.

The Retail Design Institute congratulates the Carolinas Chapter Officers on their election and thanks them for their continued commitment to advancing the profession of retail design through community, collaboration, and education across the region.
